SPC Wear-Resistant Silicon Carbide Material
The sintering process of silicon carbide starts from evenly mixing alpha-SiC powder with graphite power. Using method like dry pressing, extrusion, or slip casting, a porous blank is created. When exposed to high temperatures and brought into contact with liquid Si, the carbon in the blank reacts with the infiltrated Si , forming beta-SiC. This then binds with a alpha-SiC, Excess Si fills the pores, yielding a pore-free dense sintered body.
